Frequently Asked Questions

Basically, I will do for you exactly what I do for myself when I set up a new website. I’ll help you pick out the theme, set it up, then fully customize it with your brand color, logo, favicon, and everything.

If you’re not great with tech, I’m also happy to work with your host. Not a problem!

The theme is just a skeleton. I need to breathe some life into it by adding your personality and brand. This is where the copywriting comes in! I’ll set up every section of your homepage, write a custom About page and up to 2 more pages.

Then to make it really turn-key for you, I’ll also integrate your email marketing. If you already have one, I’ll incorporate the sign-up boxes onto your website or I can set up your first landing page and develop your first welcome sequence.

Once I hand the website back over, it’s completely ready for you and just needs your posts. It’s that simple!

Not at all! The standard package can work for any of a number of business, not just blogs.

If you’re a food blogger, I can customize your package to meet your specific needs. For example, food bloggers always need a Recipe Index and different Categories. I’m happy to include those in the basic package price.

All of my websites are my portfolio! This website, Bright Spark Writing, was built on a Restored 316 theme (Olivia) and is a great example of a website for a service-based business.

You can also visit my food blog, Milk Glass Home & Kitchen, which is on a heavily customized version of the Thyme theme.

My second food blog, Freshly Milled Grains, is on a starter theme named Eleanor. I set it up in just a weekend!

Although I’m open to other themes, I’m partial to Restored 316* and use them almost exclusively. I’ve tried other paid themes and although they look nice, they’re generally limited in some capacity and are not nearly as customizable.

Restored 316 themes are built on Kadence, which is a block editor. You can use the free version of Kadence (which is what I do), or pay for the Pro version, which allows greater theme customization.

The package price does not include the theme, so you will need to purchase that separately and provide the .zip file for me to upload.

The themes range in price from $79-249. If you already have a theme, I can customize it for you or if you need help picking out the right one, we can discuss that together in our call.

Lead magnets
One helpful way to make your new website really work for you is to offer a lead magnet. I love creating printables and would gladly help you come up with a free offer to entice your clients, whether that’s a recipe book, one-page printable, and more. Lead magnets begin at $100.


Custom Post Template
Especially if you’re a food blogger, it’s really important to have a consistent recipe post template you can fill out each time! It’s also nice to give it a little personality. I’ll create a custom, reusable recipe post pattern in your website that fits your brand and colors for $125. Need helping editing your recipe card? I can do that as well for an additional $50.

Custom Pinterest Templates
Make your brand pop on Pinterest with custom-designed Pinterest templates. I’ll design a set of 5 templates for $50.

Personally, I recommend either Kit or Flodesk. I find that Kit is easier to use, more comprehensive, and quite cutting edge, but I appreciate Flodesk’s stunning designs and affordable price.

I’ve also worked with MailChimp, MailerLite, and several other platforms. I’m happy to work on whichever platform for you use!

Nope. I don’t code or format websites; I’m just very experienced at setting up WordPress websites and use Kadence almost exclusively. I don’t do custom CSS formatting, although I’m pretty handy and can figure quite a few things out.

I am currently accepting new clients and can schedule your intro call within just a few days. This is a great time to get started before my wait list fills up!

Once you’ve applied, I’ll map it all out for you! I have a checklist and a form to help collect the information I need from you, and we’ll also schedule a video call to meet and go over all the details.

Basically, I’ll need to know about the tech stuff you’ve already done, gather any branding materials you have, and learn about your and your brand.

I make it as simple and as painless as possible, but since we’re moving quickly, I do appreciate your fast turnaround time. Getting all of the details upfront makes it much easier to get your website ready to go!
